Los Angeles

The city-state of Los Angeles stretches from Los Angeles to Santa Ana. L.A. and continues to be one of the most important metropolitan areas in North America. Many factions have come together to mark the territories. The LAPD is a force to be reckoned with, enforcing the decrees of the Council with an iron first and a motto of “shoot first, ask questions never." Because of this, while many things are superficially better in LA than anywhere else, even New York, the citizens there are among the least free in the old USA. This has given rise to the many outlaw groups in the city, such as the Firebirds. Los Angeles is a gilded veneer covering a city in a state of near constant warfare between the powerful government and the growing power of the outlaws, with many ordinary citizens trying to keep out of the crossfire.

California is in a constant state of political upheaval. While the majority of the northern states of the FEDERATION OF WESTERN AMERICA have formed a fairly secure coalition government they and those to south are in resistance to the policies presented. The 'Golden State' has since the RESONANCE been struggling to become independent and separate but lack the capital to do so.

"THIS IS L.A."

The areas considered the 'safest' in L.A. would be more toward the coast or 'more West', such as most of the beaches, Hollywood, West Hollywood, and La Brea.

The more South you go (Downtown, Skid Row, South Central) it's considered a little more dangerous, mainly residential. If you find yourself in Watts and Compton in South Central you're too far South.

North, where you have Burbank and San Fernando Valley it's fairly safe, not your typical gang land.

The more East you go, Verdugos, San Gabriel Valley, and beyond you gotta be wary, you don't want to walk around The Valley.

The majority of the city is dominated by the iron fist of the Council, the LAPD, and the FWA military, however increasing portions of the fringe areas are being taken over by various rebel groups, with the Firebirds being the largest.
